Daily Journal

Since Copeland has been born - the morning and daily routine has become even more tight. Here's a look at a typical day (with us both home) here:

1. 6:45 - Porter wakes up and either wakes us up or August
2. 6:50 - Dad grabs Copeland (to let Mom sleep). He also grabs August on his way down, drops him right after the child gate - and then closes the gate. Porter and Jackson likely already down - or soon coming.
3. 6:50 - Dad gets coffee - and get's Mom's ready
4. 6:50 - 7:30 - August and Porter need their juice.
   All three boys need cereal of some kind. Rarely the same. Delivered in small colorful bowls.
   August and Copeland both need diaper changes
5. 7:30 - 8:00 - Some form of entertainment - Cailou, legos, or video games keep the kids busy, as dad may do the dishes, vacuum, or get clothes ready - or all of the above - depending on whether Copeland is sleeping and how much coffee he drank
6. 8:00 - 8:30 - Breakfast is prepared and served. August usually gets a banana, Jackson waffles, and Porter gets his 'Sausage on a Stick'.
7. 8:30 - Mom (unless already up), will come down after her only 1.5 hour of Copeland-less sleeping from the previous night. Gets coffee, and paper. She'll help with breakfast.
8. 8:30-9:00 - Cleaning breakfast. This may vary in degree, but always requires sweeping and picking up. Sometimes mopping.
   At this point the boys may get dressed. If the whether is nice - they may run and play outside.
9. 9:00-9:30 - Copeland definitely is eating around this time. Mom and Dad figure out what they are doing in the morning. Papers are read. News is watched. Boys definitely are getting dressed - teeth and hair are being brushed - August may be on his 2nd (usually messy) diaper change.
10. 9:30 - August goes down for a nap. Dad may take the boys to do something - walk, run, errand. If it's cold or rainy dad may run alone - leaving mom with all three.
11. 9:30 - 11:00 - The boys are again being entertained in some way. By now they have already asked for a snack - fruit snack likely. If they didnt eat their breakfast - they may be presented with leftovers upon request for a snack. Mom is also usually folding multiple loads of laundry at this time. Copeland is usually fed again.
12. 11:00 - August is up from his nap
13. 11:00-12:00 - Dad may now take over Copeland as Mom gets ready for her day. This may be hectic as August climbs on every piece of furniture we have, and the older boys are running around with light sabers or legos.
14. 12:00 - Lunch is now served. August is usually the first served and the last cleaned up. The menu is usually limited to hot-cheese (mac and cheese), pb&j, cheese sandwiches or grilled cheeses, hot dogs or corn dogs, or any leftovers from the night below. Lunch could also be served with yogurt, apple sauce, cheese or chips.
15. 12:30 - 1:00 Lunch winds down and the kitchen is cleaned up (again). The boys may go outside (again). Diapers are changed. Copeland is fed.
16. 1:00 - 2:00 - This is a wild-card time. Mom or dad may run errands. Dad may take boys on a walk. Video games may be played.
17. 2:00 - August will go down for his second nap. It's also the time Jackson and Porter ask for another snack.
18. 2:00- 3:30 - This can be 'quiet time' - where mom takes a nap with Copeland. It's not unusual for Porter to fall asleep at this time. A movie may be put on. Mom may play video games with Jackson. Books maybe read. Puzzels. Pictures may be drawn. Rarely- dad may take a nap.
19. 3:30 - August will wake up again.
20. 3:30 - 5:00 - This is one of the more crazier times - as all the kids may be up and rested. The boys may play outside here (again). With the usual daipers and Copeland feedings. Often a family related errand will be conducted, like going to the store.
21. 5:00 - Dinner time. The type of food choices are the same as lunch with a few more options - such as Kid Cuisine. Kid Cuisine will require additional sharing of the boxes - cutting out of box games and puzzels.
22. 5:30-6:00 - Cleaning up dinner (again)
23. 6:00 - 7:00 - This often is bath time. Where the routine requires, taking off clothes at dirty clothes pile, getting boys in tub, 3 towels, hand-towel, toys, soap, shampoo, bubbles (optional), lotion, 3 pairs of pajamas. Teeth brushing. Copeland is being fed, and often bathed as well.
24. 7:00 - August goes to bed (usually without complaining)
25. 7:00 - 8:00 - Jackson and August video game time (lately Paper Mario). Final snack request.
26. 8:00 - Bedtime for boys. Usually with 2-3 downstairs visits after. This is often when mom and dad eat dinner.
27. 8:00 - next morning - Copeland watch and feedings.
